After the massive success that was Ponniyin Selvan: I, fans were eagerly waiting for the sequel of the film.

The second instalment of Mani Ratnam’s historical drama franchise, Ponniyin Selvan 2, is set to be released in theatres on April 28, 2023. 

As the first part of the magnum opus, “Ponniyin Selvan” has churned out rave responses from the viewers and critics alike, Tamil movie-goers are super excited to see how well the second part will shape up.

Ponniyin Selvan: Part One Plot
PS1 is essentially about a power struggle and is majorly centered on Vanthiyathevan (Portrayed by Karthi). The latter is entrusted by Aditha Karikalan (portrayed by Vikram) with the task of delivering important messages to his father Sundara Chola (portrayed by Prakash Raj) and his sister Kundhavi (Trisha).
Plans are being laid out to bring down the entire Chola empire, and it is up to the messenger Vanthiyathevan to ensure the safety of the kingdom.

Ponniyin Selvan: Part Two Production
Director Mani Ratnam completed the shooting of Ponniyin Selvan (Both Parts) in just 150 days. It was originally intended to be a single film but later it was split into two parts. Part one was released in cinemas on September 30, in all 5 Indian languages, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada and get immense love from audience.
